Computerized Auto Refractor

Problems with visual acuity that result from refractive error(s) are diagnosed by refraction, a procedure to assess refractive error(s). By measuring how light is changed when it enters your eye, our computerized auto-refractor calculates the lens prescription needed to correct your refractive error. This precise measurement takes only a few seconds. The doctor uses this baseline information during the exam.

Retinal Photography

The retinal camera allows Dr. Galeucia to take photographs of the anterior and posterior structures of the eyes to help document diseases and pathological changes. For example, photographic documentation of diabetic retinopathy patients allows us to maintain a database of the progression and management of the disease.

Corneal Mapping

Computerized corneal topography creates a detailed, topographical, color-coded map of the front surface curvature of the cornea. This highly advanced tool is essential for Dr. Galeucia to diagnose corneal pathologies and to successfully fit your contact lenses including Corneal Refractive Therapy Lenses (corneal reshaping lenses that are worn at night which eliminates any daytime correction). This mapping is quick and painless and becomes part of your patient records.
